Bourns Unveils New Data and Signal Surge Protective Devices

Bourns announced release of two new Data and Signal Surge Protective Device (SPD) families which significantly expands the company product line offering.

The Bourns® Model 2510 and 2520 Series SPDs are DIN-Rail Data and Signal Surge Protective Devices. These protectors are designed to provide surge protection for 1-pair or 2-pair data lines with common reference potential in data, signal and communication systems.

The Model 2510 and 2520 Series provide a maximum discharge current rating of 20 kA (8/20 µs). These series are UL 497B listed and comply with the IEC 61643-21 standard.

Features

  • UL listed data line protectors per UL 497B standard
  • Signal transmission is not interrupted when exchanging the module
  • Two-stage protection circuit limits transients associated with gas discharge tubes and diodes
  • Complies with UL 497B and IEC 61643-21, categories D1/C1/C2/C3
  • Pluggable surge pro

Applications

  • RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interfaces
  • Low voltage alarm circuits
  • High-frequency transmission systems
  • Analog/digital communications
